AT THE SOUTHERN EDGE
OF THE AMERICAN CONTINENT
Where the land ends and Patagonia begins
Established in 1880 and still operated by the sixth generation of the Fenton family, Estancia Monte Dinero offers a rare blend of authentic sheep farming, wildlife encounters, conservation, sustainability, estate-to-table gastronomy and exclusive access to one of Patagonia ́s most remote coastal landscapes.
More than a lodge, it is an invitation to experience the living heritage of Patagonia through the eyes of the family who has called this land home for over 140 years.
“There are few places in the world capable of becoming a refuge for the soul.””
ORIGINS: LIFE AT THE END OF THE
CONTINENT
The experience begins with the family history and a tour of the historic estate headquarters, where guests are introduced to the estancia’s pioneering legacy and its current sheep farming operation with Multi-Purpose Merino sheep, based on principles of animal welfare, soil regeneration, and sustainability.
The estancia holds international certifications and produces much of its own food, including free-range lamb and organic garden produce, forming the foundation of an authentic, seasonal culinary experience deeply connected to the land.
THE END OF THE CONTINENT,
THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING:
On the second day, guests discover one of the most remote and southernmost landscapes on Earth.
The experience explores the eastern entrance to the Strait of Magellan, one of the largest penguin colonies in the region, the historic lighthouse, and kilometer zero of the legendary National Route 40.
The day ends with a private gastronomic experience at the tea house, overlooking the Strait of Magellan and the very edge of the South American continent.
UNTAMED PATAGONIA:
On the third day, guests are invited to explore the wildest side of Patagonia, traveling along the cliffs of the South Atlantic and through some of the estancia ́s most remote landscapes.
The journey includes access to a private beach and encounters with free-roaming horses that are part of the natural landscape of the farm and reflect the untamed spirit of southern Patagonia.
The experience also offers the opportunity to meet the livestock guardian dogs and discover the essential role they play in maintaining the balance between production and conservation.
ATLANTIC EXPEDITION:
On the fourth day, guests embark on an exclusive expedition through the estancia’s most remote landscapes, crossing the vast Patagonian wilderness to reach a pristine sea lion colony with private access.
This expedition offers an intimate connection with one of the wildest and most isolated Atlantic coastline on the continent.
The journey concludes with a return to the historic estancia house, where guests can relax and enjoy the surroundings before continuing their travels, with the option to extend their stay for an additional night.
This experience is designed as a premium extension to high-end Patagonia itineraries. It is
not simply about visiting Patagonia, but about truly experiencing it from within, in its most
genuine, remote, and exclusive form: authentic access to a working estancia, a rich family
history, and untouched nature at the southernmost edge of the South American continent.
The culinary experience is based on locally sourced and estate-produced ingredients,
presented through gastronomic experiences that reflect the land, its traditions, and the
essence of Patagonian.
